Prairiewood Forest School:
Homeschool Co-op

Wednesdays | ages 4-14 | classes each fall & Spring

Through our Spring and Fall semester homeschool co-op classes for ages 4-14, families share playful, student-directed immersion opportunities for children and youth to connect with community, personal creativity, and the natural world.

New and returning families can apply for the 2024-2025 admissions lottery HERE.

Each season, your family will take on roles in the garden, with our farm animals, leading one or more story circles, and sharing a snack of your choice. After an initial 30 minutes on your "Farm Hand" team for each week, we'll gather to share an opening circle including a story, songs, and lunch before moving through our outdoor learning environment for almost 2 hours of open-ended exploring, sensory engagement, imaginative play, and occasional creative projects using minimal natural materials. We regather at the end of each 3 hour session to reflect on our days, practice care for our supplies and the land, and taste a snack prepared from our garden or from what families bring.

PLEASE NOTE that enrollment in our homeschool co-ops is unlike other Prairiewood Forest School classes. At Homeschool Co-op, a caregiver will need to participate in each part of class, and to help clean up every week. This caregiver will also need to participate in online planning discussion, and to sign up for teaching responsibilities at an in-person meeting before each semester begins.
